Road toll collection in Belgium as per the 1st of April 2016
31 March 2016
As per the 1st of April 2016 the Belgian government is applying a new regulation with regard to a road toll for freight traffic. This toll has direct consequences for import and export to and from Belgium, as well as for the pass-through traffic with destinations outside of Belgium.
Trucks, with a maximum permitted tare weight of more than 3.5 tonnes will have to pay a road toll as of that date. This is applicable to the motorways, and to a number of regional and communal roads.
Toll expenditures are an integral part of the costs, which are made by us for transporting shipments in and through Belgium. Also shipments to and from France, Spain, Portugal and Great Britain and Ireland will be faced by this new surcharge, if they pass through Belgium.
Unfortunately we have to pass this increase in costs on to our customers.
In case you have any questions about this surcharge please consult your account manager. You can also contact our sales department via firstname.lastname@example.org or +31 (0)53 3030016.« Back
